Today we once again sing Alleluia and the Gloria. Jesus Christ has risen today. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad!
I wish you all a Happy and Blessed Easter! I especially want to congratulate Joshua Price on his Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion as well as our other children making their First Holy Communion: Flannery Joyce Coman, Eowyn Lorraine Coman, Naomi Randall, Eugene Gbologan, Madison Parker, Stephanie Isler and Madison Isler. May God bless you all!
In our first reading today, from the Mass during the day, St. Peter in the Acts of the Apostles, gives us a wonderful summary of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, along with the mission of the Church to preach to the people and testify to Jesus.
In our second reading St. Paul tells us that we have been raised with Christ and should live our lives according to his teachings, with love for God and our sisters and brothers.
In today’s Gospel, Mary of Magdala and then Peter and John find the empty tomb. They saw and believed. Later when Jesus appeared to them, they began to understand the resurrection. Jesus rose from the dead and says we can do the same simply by living our lives according to his teachings. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Save this date: April 24, the Father Tolton Play will be at St. Joe High School at 7 PM. We now have tickets for the play. Please see a Tolton Society member to buy one. They are only $5.00.
We had all the carpet in the hall and church cleaned last week for $973.00. I hope you can see the difference. Please be careful with spills both in the church and the hall. If a stain is cleaned up right away it doesn’t leave as many marks on the floor. There are still a few Play Dough stains that just won’t come up. Please keep Play Dough off the carpet.
I went to insert a picture for Palm Sunday and found out my Office program no longer provides pictures. They gave a long explanation on how to go on line to find pictures to post, which I couldn’t figure out. If some one knows how to do this, I could use a little help with this process. I also registered a complaint with Office, asking them to bring back the feature.
Let us continue to pray for peace in the world. Let us also pray for vocations to the church. Let us pray for the sick of the parish. Let us pray that all will come to respect life. Let us pray for one another and for the canonization of Father Tolton.
