Greetings Saint Augustine Parishioners:
I truly appreciate Father Augustine Onuoa for celebrating Mass last weekend, as well as Father Bob Kyfes for celebrating Mass this Sunday. Father Augustine and I have developed a close relationship as we worked together for two years at Saint Pius. I am grateful to Father Bob, who has been serving as my spiritual director during these past couple of years. He has guided me in preparing for and entering into retirement. Thanks also to Deacon Mel Tardy, who is taking care of the day-to-day issues in my absence.
It is very cold here in Colorado. But I remain grateful for the good health that allows old guys like me to continue to enjoy the sport of skiing. I am scheduled to return on Saturday evening, February 1. But knowing the ups and downs of winter travel, Father Augustine is on deck to take the Mass next Sunday, just in case.
I am also looking forward to meeting and working with the members of Parish Pastoral Council and the Finance Council.
Thanks, Fr. Bill Schooler
