As we approach the Ascension of the Lord, which we will celebrate next Sunday, we hear Jesus tell us about loving him and the Father in today's gospel. "And whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him/her and reveal myself to him/her." "if you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth." This is the Holy Spirit. So, as Jesus prepares to ascend into heaven, he promises that the Holy Spirit will come upon the Church and its members. This of course happens at Pentecost. Come, Holy Spirit, come!
As we announced last week we will begin to have public Masses next Sunday, May 24. We will have the usual schedule 8:15 AM and 10:30 AM. We will follow social distancing and have some of the pews closed off. We ask that everyone who comes wears a face mask, except those under two and those who can not breath with one on. By order of the bishop there will be no singing or touching. Mass will be very simple but at long last we will be able to receive the Body and Blood of the Lord. There will be no "Coffee &". I will have more instructions at Mass.
Let's continue to pray for all victims of the virus.
