I wish you all a Happy and Blessed Easter! I especially want to congratulate Joshua Price on his Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion as well as our other children making their First Holy Communion: Flannery Joyce Coman, Eowyn Lorraine Coman, Naomi Randall, Eugene Gbologan, Madison Parker, Stephanie Isler and Madison Isler. May God bless you all!
Holy Week begins today with Palm Sunday. We will have processions before each Mass and after each Mass the Altar and Rosary Society is having a Bake Sale. The whole Holy Week Schedule is listed above. On Thursday, we celebrate Jesus’ Last Supper and the institution of the Eucharist. On Friday we go through his passion and death with the adoration of his cross. On Saturday night we hold a vigil for his resurrection, which we celebrate on Easter Sunday.
I hope you notice something new in the church this morning besides the color rose. At the choir’s suggestion, we have bought new song books as part of our 90th Anniversary Celebration. We bought the new second edition of “Lead Me, Guide Me”. Each book with our name on it costs $17.00, so please use them and treat them well.
We ran out of room last week but it is not too late to remember St. Katharine Drexel. She is the Philadelphia heiress who founded the Missionary Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament and Xavier University in New Orleans. She died March 3, 1955 and was canonized Oct. 1, 2000.
