Due to printing timing I am writing this the morning of Mardi Gras. It has started to snow but I hope it will still be OK for our Mardi Gras. It is indoors after all. I want to thank the Tolton Society and all the hard work they put into this great event. Thanks also to all who came out to enjoy Mardi Gras together.
I’m old enough to remember when Presidents’ Day was to honor George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. When I was in grade school, we actually had their birthdays off. Now we honor all the presidents, the good as well as the bad.
Our three readings and psalm today tell us to let our little light shine. Isaiah tells us if we feed the poor, shelter the homeless and clothe the naked and do not turn our backs on our own “then your light shall break forth like the dawn.”
